Why are you in HR?

I have always been interested in people and how they interact with others. I believe that human capital is the driving force of business today.

Which business person do you admire and why?

My mother. She taught me drive, perseverance and that success is picking yourself up more that you fall.

What do you do to keep up-to-date on the latest in HR?

Read online articles, HR Reporter, blogs and books.

In your opinion, what are the biggest issues in HR at the moment?

Recruiting, internal branding and performance incentives for the Gen X, Gen Y and the Boomers.

You volunteered to be a blogger for Fireside HR. Why did you decide to take this on?

I have always been interested in people and I wanted to share my knowledge and opinions on the industry and work with some great people and hear what their insights are.

What do you plan to blog about?

Internal branding and recruiting.

What do you want your readers to know about you?

I am an outgoing and energetic HR professional with a background in marketing and finance. When I am not working, I am rowing, running, playing tennis, skiing, volunteering or doing fun activities with my family and dogs.
